cultural criticism

Short Definition
The analysis and critique of cultural practices, norms, and media, often focusing on how power, identity, and values are represented. It involves examining how culture reflects and influences society, including areas like race, gender, and class.
Relevance
Cultural criticism can challenge dominant narratives and question the power structures embedded in tech and media. However, it risks being superficial if not rooted in an understanding of structural injustice. When engaged thoughtfully, it can expose exploitation and advocate for radical change.
