community guidelines

Short Definition
A set of rules or standards that define acceptable behavior within a community, often used in online spaces to foster respectful interactions, ensure safety, and outline the consequences of violating those rules.
Relevance
Community guidelines establish norms in digital spaces but can perpetuate harm if not rooted in justice. However, guidelines co-created with communities can foster safer environments where historically exploited voices are protected and amplified, and harmful behaviors are actively challenged.
