accessibility

Short Definition
Accessibility refers to the design and provision of products, services, environments, and digital content in a way that ensures they can be used, understood, and enjoyed by individuals with diverse abilities and disabilities
Relevance
Accessibility is a tool used to dismantle ableism and create a more inclusive space where all people can engage with certain resources and participate in cultural, social, political, and economic spheres. It is an iterative and incremental process, meaning that its application won't be complete or perfect at first but will continue to be built upon for improvement — not everything will be achieved at once. Accessibility is not just free and open access; it sometimes means protecting information and knowledges. Increased accessibility changes the scope of projects, which impacts schedule and cost — not only within a small project, but also within programs and portfolios and operation.
