About
Johann Diedrick is an artist, engineer, and educator whose work integrates audio and AI technologies to create installations, performances, and sculptures that invite audiences into transformative sonic encounters. He also shares tools and methods through listening tours, workshops, and open-source projects. Diedrick is a 2023 Artist-in-Residence at Abrons Arts Center, and his past affiliations include Mozilla, Pioneer Works, NEW INC, and the Tisch School of the Arts at NYU. His work has been featured in The Wire and presented internationally at the Smithsonian’s Hirshhorn Museum, MoMA PS1, Dia Art Foundation, and the New Museum. He holds a BA in sociology of culture from the University of Pennsylvania and an MPS from NYU’s Interactive Telecommunications Program.
