Indigenous AI

The Indigenous Protocol and Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) Working Group develops conceptual and practical approaches to building future A.I. systems through Indigenous perspectives. The group explores questions such as: What should our relationship with A.I. be? How can Indigenous epistemologies shape global conversations on technology? And how might A.I. contribute to the flourishing of all beings? Initial workshops in 2019 laid the foundation for a position paper (2020) and inspired the ongoing Abundant Intelligences research program, which continues to expand this work.
