Conservation through Reconciliation Partnership (CRP)

About
In 2019, the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) awarded 7 years of project funding to the Conservation through Reconciliation Partnership (CRP). The IISAAK OLAM Foundation, the Indigenous Leadership Initiative (ILI), and the University of Guelph (UofG) co-host the CRP, which also weaves together a wide range of partners across Canada. Partners include the David Suzuki Foundation, World Wildlife Fund Canada, and the Canadian Wildlife Service at Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) among many others. The CRP committed to establishing three legacy outcomes: 1. The National IPCA Alliance – organizational support for Indigenous governments that have established an IPCA; 2. The IPCA Knowledge Basket – an online platform to share knowledge and build capacity and community for IPCAs; 3. A network of IPCA Innovation Centres – space and places that foster IPCA innovation and develop knowledge products for IPCAs in Ethical Space.
