InterAccess presents Democratizing the Sky, a free public lecture on civilian drone use by engineer Frank Sedlar

In an era of dwindling privacy, investigating the spatial and social infrastructures of surveillance has become a central concern for artists, designers and researchers alike. This session brings together the Department of Unusual Certainties (Christopher Pandolfini and Simon Rabyniuk), and Scott Sørli, to discuss the subversive and artistic potential of technologies of control.

InterAccess presents Near Future Textiles, an evening of free lectures by Sweden-based wearable technology artists and researchers Angella Mackey and David NG McCallum.

Marc De Pape and Michael Trommer both employ a process of translation in their multidisciplinary, sound-centred practices. While De Pape’s “The Chime” translates urban movement into a cinematic score, Trommer’s “Transmissions from the Technological Sublime” translates a series of urban field recordings into brooding, nocturnal animation. In this session, De Pape and Trommer discuss how their approaches to sound and place both overlap and diverge, while attending to the aesthetic concerns of their non-visual media.
